My name is La Daana Kanhai and I am a Marine Scientist from the Small Island Developing State (SIDS) of Trinidad and Tobago. My research is focused on understanding the impact of human activities on coastal and marine ecosystems to inform the development of context-specific, multi-pronged interventions.

I am an engineer-turned-ecologist studying how mammals around the world use space and time, and how factors such as climate influence species distributions. I am currently a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Rhode Island where I lead the Global Animal Diel Activity Project.

I am a PhD student at the University of Texas, San Antonio. I am from India and moved to the USA for graduate studies in 2021. My current research focuses on using different satellite data to understand the physical processes of sea ice in Antarctica.

I'm a recent PhD graduate from Queen's University, Canada, and am a current postdoctoral researcher at the Woodwell Climate Research Center. During my graduate studies, I studied the effects of climate warming on soil biogeochemistry and greenhouse gases in the Canadian High Arctic.

Hello! My name is Melisa Diaz and I am currently a Postdoctoral Scholar at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution. I am an interdisciplinary scientist and use geochemistry as a tool to bridge physical, biological, and social sciences.

I am a 3rd-year undergraduate at the University of Virginia double majoring in Environmental Sciences and Statistics with a minor in Astronomy. After my time as an undergraduate, I hope to go to graduate school and pursue a PhD. I want to research icy and ocean worlds such as Mars, Europa, and Enceladus in the future.

I am a masters student at San Francisco State University and a GIS Specialist at Point Blue Conservation Science. My current work is focused on studying if and how much migrating Adélie Penguins in the Ross Sea, Antarctica depend on ocean current and wind driven sea ice movement to help them travel great distances.

My name is Akintunde Kuye. I am a British citizen of a Black heritage from Western-Africa. I am a graduate of the Imperial College London. I studied at the School of Centre for Environmental Policy. My work involves using geoscientist knowledge to provide environmental solutions through identification of problems and detecting viable solutions that drives policy change.

I am primarily a glacial geologist with broad interests in paleoclimate, geochronology, and GIS-based glacier reconstructions. Specifically, I study past glacier and ice sheet changes to help predict how ice sheets and glaciers will react to future anthropogenic-caused warming.

I am currently a marine ecosystem modeller - I use mathematical models to simulate ecosystem dynamics and explore how predator-prey interactions are changing under different pressures (like climate change and fishing). I've primarily applied these models to Antarctic ecosystems but now I'm extending into temperate environments, like the giant kelp reefs we have in Australia.

I am a physical oceanographer based at Princeton University, and collaborating closely with the NOAA Geophysical Fluid Dynamics Laboratory, one of the premier climate modeling centers in the USA. My work focuses on the role of small-scale mixing processes in the ocean circulation and climate.

My name is Gui and I'm from Floripa, an Island in the south of Brazil. My job is to travel to Antarctica and tag Weddell and elephant seals with oceanographic tags that collect information about the water around Thwaites Glacier, while the tagged seals swim and dive.

I am a first generation Teochew Chinese American. Currently, my work in Antarctica focuses on understanding the role organisms play in carbon storage in the deep ocean.

I am an isotope geochemist studying gas bubbles in polar ice core cores. I look at rare isotopes of oxygen in trapped gas bubbles to understand how climate conditions in the Earth’s past have changed through time because of changes in climate forcings.

I am an interdisciplinary conservation scientist and graduate student at the University of Oxford where my research focuses on the impacts of human activities on the behaviour of marine megafauna.

My name is Ziad Rashed and I'm a Ph.D. student at the Georgia Institute of Technology. I was born in Giza, Egypt but received most of my education in the United States. My research focuses on ice-ocean interactions with a focus on calving and ice-mélange and their associated feedbacks which inform projections of sea level rise!

I received my BSc in Biology and went on to pursue a PhD in Microbial Ecology, both at Concordia University. During my graduate studies, I am focusing on Arctic ecosystems, which gave me the opportunity to conduct research in the Arctic Ocean both on CCGS Louis S. St.-Laurent, Canada’s largest icebreaker, and at the Canadian High Arctic Research Station in Nunavut.

I am a Paleoceanographer, working on tiny marine organisms which are fossilized in the sediment. My work has given me opportunity to work from Equatorial region to Polar region (Arctic).
