My interest includes Arctic Indigenous traditional and local knowledge incorporating these knowledge systems in all areas of Arctic research, with the aim of informing policy and improving communication and collaboration between various stakeholder groups.

I advocate for the protection of Arctic Indigenous culture and language, protection of the Antarctic Southern Ocean, and the integration of indigenous knowledge in the science to policy interface.

I grew up in the countryside enjoying fishing, hunting and the great outdoors. Outside of polar activities, I enjoy the wonders of astronomy and outer space, kayaking, hiking, traveling, reading, discovering new things and learning something new daily.

My favorite animals are reptiles, (they tell us so much about the large Jurassic giants that once roamed the Earth), the polar bear and the Arctic fox. My favorite foods are food from other cultures. I enjoy diversity in every aspect of my life, including my meals.

I aspire to be an inspirational leader for young girls and people of color interested in the polar regions.
